Keep in mind, though, that Mario is a juggernaut game property, and once players get a taste for him in this game, they're bound to want some of his other games and related fan merchandise. Cooperative local multiplayer makes for a rich and rewarding social gaming experience for up to four friends, and the upbeat vibe and push to explore the world and help other characters foster a sense of curiosity and discovery. The violence is pretty tame, with fantasy creatures like goombas and koopa troopas simply disappearing once defeated. As in the original game, players spend their time running around brightly colored environments dressed in various power-bestowing outfits (such as a cat suit), making their way to each level's end while solving puzzles and occasionally hopping on or shooting a fireball toward the cartoonish enemies that try to block their progress. This is a re-release of a Wii U game from 2013 with lots of added content. The only thing that would improve it, would be making it apart of Super Mario Odyssey with that game’s feel and control scheme.Parents need to know that Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is an action/adventure game for the Nintendo Switch. Super Mario 3D World on its own is worth the price of admission, but Bowser’s Fury provides hours of gleeful platforming fun in a new way. That is all I want to say because Bowser’s Fury is an excellent addition.
If you complete enough challenges you can collect a Giga Bell and transform Mario into the colossal Giga Cat Mario to take on Bowser one on one.
Every few minutes while you’re playing, Bowser awakens and begins hurling fiery objects toward you that you have to dodge. Instead of traversing through short levels, Bowser’s Fury is one giant open world, full of challenges to overcome. That is until you meet Bowser Jr., who player 2 can play as. It plays just like the main 3D World game, but without the co-op element. It is almost like its own short game and it's great. Something new to the Switch version is Bowser’s Fury.
Captain Toad also shows up a few times in the game.
